Its around 3 months now since I came to U.S. from India.
I remember the days when I used to dream that one day even I would come to explore, "the land of opportunities". "Chasing the American Dream", as the phrase goes, has really captured the imagination of millions of people across the world, who come to this distant land in search of something more.
Being exposed to media, newspapers, movies, internet etc. had not left me unaware about the American culture, though sometimes you cannot truly comment about few things until you experience them on your own. From the first day of arriving in U.S. there have been many new things to explore.
To start with, cleanliness everywhere, no mad rush of traffic, everything very organized and systematic, too many cars on road (two wheelers are a rare instance), pedestrians changing the traffic light on their own whenever they need to cross the roads etc. Lack of Indian food outlets was something I was missing something very badly when I came here. So far, I have been living in a small city in U.S., called Buffalo, which comes under New York State. I have not got a chance yet to visit the big cities like New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, etc. But by living in any city in U.S. you can get to know how things are managed here. And in many aspects, they are managed quite well, especially when it comes to administration.
